Słowianin Arabians

– passion passed through generations, continuous breeding since 1990

The horse has accompanied our family for generations. Family accounts tell that members of our family were engaged in the horse trade, obtaining horses by organizing numerous expeditions to the eastern borderlands of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. These horses were distinguished by exceptional beauty and aroused great interest among the many participants of markets and fairs. They played a very important role in everyday life -work, leisure, and even fighting in defense of the homeland - accompanying members of our family during both World War I and World War II.

We were especially interested in noble horses - purebred Arabians - yet in the postwar period purchasing them from state stud farms was not possible for private individuals. However, perseverance and consistency, along with steadily gaining knowledge at shows, auctions, and visits to experienced breeders (including Mr. Zygmunt Braur), led to our first purchase: in 1979, the Arabian stallion FEZARYT (Muharyt–Falbanka), bred by Z. Braur; and in 1984, two young mares - MIMOZA (Bukszpan–Miszka) and MIGOTKA (Dambor–Mewa), bred and owned by Anna Dębska. This was finally meant to be the beginning of our breeding program, but even then fate taught us what the hardships of breeding truly mean. Migotka died as a result of an unfortunate accident without leaving offspring, and Mimoza proved infertile due to a congenital defect.

Historia

Only in 1988 were private breeders from Poland allowed to take part in the famous auction in Janów Podlaski, which until then had been reserved exclusively for foreign buyers. We then managed to purchase the mare MAGNOLIA (Fason–Maskotka), bred and owned by Białka Stud we were the first Poles to buy a purebred Arabian mare at the Janów Podlaski auction. At the 1990 auction we bought ALBANIA (Gwarny–Aleksja), bred at SK Janów Podlaski and owned by Białka Stud, receiving the commemorative cup “ANIMEX TROPHY TOP BUYER POLISH PRESTIGE JANÓW PODLASKI ’90”.

In 1991, together with a small group of private horse breeders, we founded the Association of Private Breeders of Purebred Arabian Horses, intended to support and bring together the emerging private breeding sector following the political and economic changes.

Meanwhile, more mares joined our breeding program - GALICJA (Algomej–Gromada), bred at SK Kurozwęki, and from SK Michałów: DAROWIZNA (Partner–Donna), PLISZKA (Gwarny–Pardwa) with her filly POSTAWA (by Endel), and the particularly valuable and beautiful PASSA (Eukaliptus–Pascha) – 1982 World Reserve Champion and Nations Cup Reserve Champion. In 1995, during the 1st Junior Arabian Horse Show organized by the Association of Private Breeders of Purebred Arabian Horses, POSTAWA (Endel–Pliszka) placed second in the yearling fillies class - our first show success.

Historia

At the same time, we continued a line of horses with outstanding racing ability. That same year, the three-year-old daughter of ALBANIA—ABISYNIA (by Borysław) won all five races she started in, including the Kuhailan I, Białka, and Sambor Stakes. Before the 1996 race season, ABISYNIA was the favorite for the most important races, but an injury during winter training ended her racing career.

In 1996, our breeding program was further strengthened by the mare ERUDYCJA (Probat–Etola), purchased from SK Michałów, together with her filly EKLEZJA by Monogramm.

The offspring of ALBANIA, PLISZKA, PASSA, and ERUDYCJA formed the core of our breeding program, which has been continued uninterrupted for successive generations of our family.
